JOHN10
Alright, I have an opportunity to get a Graphite Design PM 902. I know a little bit about clubmaking, but still a big novice. So please, bear with me and help me out. Here's the deal...the shaft is a PGA Tour van pullout. The length is 43 1/8" and the tip prep is 1.75"...meaning the paint has been removed that much on the tip. I assume the tip prepping suggestions are the same for this shaft as the 702. Here are my questions: 1) On the GD website, the tip prep suggestions are .5" for a through-bore, 1" for a blind bore, and 1.5" for a standard bore. I was thinking of getting a 904F, V-Steel, or T-60 3 wood for this shaft. Does this mean that, since the tip has been cut so much...I couldn't use it in certain clubs?? I would like this club to play at least 42.5" or 42.25". 2) Since this is a pull, would it not be worth it? I've heard that pulling graphite shafts will damage them, or do the PGA Tour guys do such a good job that it won't be affected? 4) Finally...anyone know where I could get a brand new one??? Sorry for my ignorance...thanks to a bunch to anyone that can help me out on this. John P.S. this has been edited. When I first posted it, I thought the tip had been cut 1.75", but the tip is uncut and the paint has been removed for the 1.75".
