June 28, 200520 yr We can do our 3X Black Oxide on any RAW UNPLATED club for $20. It is alot tougher to do a club that is plated.
June 28, 200520 yr I don't know how much it cost to do irons, but go to www.blackoxideservice.com. Once I had a putter that was done there. They are in San Marcos, CA and they used to do the 3X black for SC putter studio.
July 6, 200520 yr I am curious as well about how to remove the plating on my irons? I would love to send them in to have the black finish applied by Scratch.
July 21, 200520 yr The plating is removed with a chemical solution that is quite toxic. You have to be very carefull to not leave the heads in the solution too long or you can pit the metal. I wouldnt reccomend doing this yourself you could call any chrome shop in your area and they most likely could do it. If you want us to do it the price is $20 a club extra.
August 23, 200520 yr how durable is the finish? is it easy to scratch up or will it remain black despite hitting? is the face also done?
