So I've been going to my Golf Pro for lessons the past 3 months....

We've taken apart my swing, and here is the evolution of my swing.

1. Swing Plane was too flat: Solution ..Swing back halfway then elevate.

I think the elevation tecqnique has caused my swing to come outside-->IN

2. Casting on my down swing.. Pro recommended a few drills..problem almost fixed.

So with my new swing...I find I am hitting the hosel every darn time..WEDGES IRONS & Driver.

I've tried standing back, I've tried pump drills, setting up on the toe...NO MATTER What I do...I end up hitting the hosel or slicing the freggin ball!

I'm frustrated and I'm about to give up the game..... I've been practicing and praticing @ the range with no sucess.

Can anyone relate? Help! Suggestions...

try standing closer to the ball and with the ball towards the heel at address if you havn't already tried this, sounds strange but when i stand further from the ball i end up reaching for it more and doing the things that you are trying to eliminate, the game is so backwards as it is, so good luck

Try setting up with your weight more back toward your heels. I always found a lot of my hosels seemed to be caused by setting up with too much weight on the balls of my feet and the toes. Then, when I would make a swing if my weight shifted forward at all, I'd catch it in the hosel. Thankfully, I haven't done it in years.

Good luck!

Here is a drill/training station I used when I had issues with the hosel of my club...

Firstly, when working on the range I always set up target and foot line clubs so I know I'm set up square. Practice doesn't make perfect practice makes permanent.

The drill I used was/is to set up a water bottle just outside my ball, on a line perpendicular to my target line. I leave just enough room for my clubhead to pass and make center/sweetspot contact. You can vary the distance to change the difficulty level, tolerances. This drill helps insure that the distance of my clubhead from my feet line established at adress remains consistent through the swing.

Water Bottle 0

Target line------------------------0--------------------

feet line-------------------------------------------------

feet-----------------------{l}-------------{r}-----------

Start with more room between the bottle and the ball. Gradually move the bottle in closer, not too close as you don't want to promote toe contact. Swing slowly to get the feel, of course don't hit the bottle. HTH

Definitely get your $$$ back and get a new instructor. Terrible ways of teaching hes just draining your pocketbook. There's a lot of things to do and say but without seeing you swing it would be kind of hard to determine you problem. Try the things above some of the posters have said they could work, if not say they aren't working still and maybe I can help or get a great referral to where ever you live. Good luck
