Yes, we are safe up here in the northwest corner of the state. We did not see a drop of rain from Katrina and we are very fortunate for that. Our city, along with many others have been taking in literally thousands of refugees from the storm. Growing up here and spending a good bit of time in NO makes this hard to comprehend for me. It almost seems surreal.

Anyone looking to donate, please do so. You don't have to send money either. These people need clothing and baby supplies. We have sent boxes of clothes, diapers and bottles with formula to help out. Money is good, but supplies help immediately.
