Phillip Alexander
:smile1: Guys just a follow on from the rifle versus ns pro post. Under normal circumstances it would seem logical to lose distance with all clubs due to age (putter excepted). However due to technology, initially the ball and the driver, my driving distance has remained relatively similar for 30 years. Now to the point at hand. I have a set of MP11 and love the heads. When I first bought them in 1992 (yeah, I know I've had them a long time) they had DG S400U shafts in them. At the time the 7 iron went approximately 170 yards (155 metres, the courses in Australia are measured in metres). As the years went by I started to lose some distance with them. About 5 years ago, I had them reshafted with Rifle 5.5. My distance returned. Just recently I began to lose distance again, and resigned myself to taking an extra club. Based on the responses from my last post the NS Pros will once again return the distance to my irons. The club heads provided on the TSG web site are the best in the world. What's really interesting is once you have great heads, they can be tweaked, not only now, but also as you age by simply getting the right shaft for your age and strength. Now all I need is a decent short game (I've got some great wedges, just need to use them a bit better) and some laser eye surgery (the eyes aren't as good as they used to be).
