johnnypro Posted February 2, 2006 Report Share Posted February 2, 2006 I have a Fuji Speeder 857 Pro Ti stiff that I want to put in my Exotics 13* 3-wood. The shaft is a pull. It measures 45" butt-to-tip and the first 3" or so of the tip are "prepped." Question is how do I have my clubmaker trim this shaft from both butt and tip to make it play 43" and stiff BUT NOT LIKE A LEAD PIPE in my 3-wood? Is it OK for part of the prepped area to be exposed (above the ferrule)? I'm 55 and my driver swing speed (Cleveland Comp Tour with Fuji Tour Platform 27.3, stiff) is 100 - 105mph. The exposed area has been exposed to heat already, so the chances of snaping it is big. Tipping it to a point where the fresh area to reduce risk is gonna make the shaft play so stiff.
