FaldoJunior
I would like to know whether grinding down the bounce on a wedge will affect anything like distance or feel. The problem is I have this really nicely weighted ping tour wedge that I am unable to get rid of because it is fairly new. But it has 14 degrees bounce, what I would like it to have is about 6 or 4 degree bounce. What should I do about getting the bounce removed. Is it even possible to take that much off. Your help would be very much welcomed. Thanks
sly_sam
If you grind it down to the point where you like how it reacts with the turf, that's the first step. The second is finding out if the swing weight has changed any, because that will affect the feel of the wedge when you swing. If you get it done professionally, or if you do it your self, make sure you get the swing weight checked (they have a machine for that as you probably know), before and after the grinding to see where you stand after you figure out the bounce. If you need some extra weight to put the swing weight back up to where you want it, lead tape is the best answer. Tour pros do that sometimes when they get special grinds to keep the feel they want.
