Posted June 23, 200618 yr comment_121675 i am looking for a tool that allows you to remove a grip without cutting it. im not sure what its called but ive seen one before. i believe you inject something into the hole in the grip and it somehow slides off? maybe im wrong. let me know if you know what im talking about. thanks.
June 24, 200618 yr comment_121684 i am looking for a tool that allows you to remove a grip without cutting it. im not sure what its called but ive seen one before. i believe you inject something into the hole in the grip and it somehow slides off? maybe im wrong. let me know if you know what im talking about. thanks. there is a grip remover tool from golfsmith that allows something similar to what you want. check it out, 19.99. a little pricey for something like that if you ask me. i use a wire shirt hanger and bend it to look simlilar to the golfsmith one. just use solvent and shove it into the grip and slide it around a bit and thats it!
June 25, 200618 yr comment_121744 Yes I have that very same tool from Golfsmith. It works well but like alpha_pro says you could get by with a wire hanger and solvent. Just make sure the wire hanger is a strong one. Basically you just need anything that you can slip under a grip thats small (width wise) enough but yet strong enough to do the job. You just need to use solvent to loosen up the tape. Slip the tool under the grip, add solvent, loosen the grip a little and repeat until you've worked your way completely down the shaft under the grip. The one from Golfsmith has a handle which makes it nice but if using a hanger just be careful. Either way will work.
July 7, 200618 yr comment_122113 there is that tool, and if you have an air compressor, go to stargrips.com, they have a compressor attachment...that works well.
