NO what GM needs to do is do a retro like ford has . Bring back the big bad 427 all aluminum engine in , lets say a split window coupe .

Add a rock crusher 4 or 5 speed tranny ( only need the clutch when starting and stopping ) and nothing made in NA would even come close to touching it . :!: :!:

I thought the LS7 was the fastest produced vette at 500 h.p.

What was the blue white stripped 60's series GT Vette ? - that would be cool - flared out 67 coupe - or a split window combo - Mike you and I should join the GM test team.

That would be a dream come true AK . I would even consider giving up golf for something like that .

I can't remember the designation for the engine off hand , but a all aluminum 427 would be the about the fastest non - tuned engine there is .

Even the Vipers engine's are tuned just a bit to give it that little extra .

I can remember one of those engine's in a Vette that was tuned and put out close to 600+ horsepower .

I try and get the designation form a source other than my brother and let you know what it is .

Also did you know that in the late 60's early 70's GM made a engine that was 596 cubic inches . It was a very special order and not many people knew about it or could afford it.

That concept convertible El Camino GM just put out certainly ain't the answer. I was at a high school baseball game and one of the kids had one, gawd it was ugly. (Hopefully none of you guys are sporting one or I just put my foot in my mouth which I'm usually pretty good at). I love the GT40, that thing is so sweet. My buddy's dad has a Ford dealership in Dallas and they were thinking they were gonna get two to sell. I think he was keeping one and doing an auction on the other one.

I actually hit balls this weekend and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The new 300 tour wasn't happening for me though. I really don't think I can hit a driver that's over 44" long. I usually just take the length off the butt end but I'm thinking about tipping it a half inch. Wonder what that would do for me? Sounds like a post for another forum.

AK do you remember the old CAN - AM racing series from the 60's and 70's . Had the like of McLeran and Stewart , Donahue , Hulme etc .

That is where most of the 596's went to . They were in the M80 McLeran car and they put out 950 HP . Then Donahue came in with the Porch that had 1000HP . 8O Wish we had a whistle smilie .

Yenko now there is a name I have not heard of in a very long time .

I didn't even know that they were coming out with one . Is it that ugly chainsaw ?? Naw I drive a little cavalier  If your dad's buddy does keep one , then the next time you are there get him to take you for a ride that would be way cool man .

chainsaw , take it off the butt first. That way if you do decide to tip it you can always add the length with an extension . Kind of hard to do it the other way around if it doesn't work out for you . :)

btw: what shaft is in it ??

btw: what shaft is in it ??

It's a fuji 757 stiff. One of the other problems was the grip felt really small. I hit some of the ugliest low hooks I've ever seen, I was waiting for a guy to pop up from behind a blind and shoot one of the ducks I was serving up. I hit some great long irons but my 9 and PW were suffering. I'm gonna get the swing weights checked cuz I swear something is off somewhere. I just don't know any good guys to take them to here in Vegas. My usual shop closed down a few weeks ago and now I'm stranded.

I rock it out in my POS '92 cavalier... what a junker... but its fun to drive around and remember the clubs in the back are worth more than the car they ride in.

Once I get out of the city I'll get something a little more current to get me around... but a nice car in the city is just a target.

I now what you mean about target pete . My Vette more than once had the emblems stolen off of it .

The only reason I drive the Cav now is my brother . He works for GM so got a great deal on it :D

Here's a link to the convertible El Camino. It's ten times worse in person.

http://www.gmbuypower.com/vehicleHomePage....ellingSource=13

There isn't a thing in the world wrong with rockin' a cav. I'd kill to get over 13 miles a gallon right now. Gas is 2.09 a gallon and it's running me around 45 bucks to fill up the F-150 these days.

The guy that runs or ran ScottyPutters.net just opened a shop up here but after some of the stuff that went down elsewhere I was a little reluctant to use him. Have you guys ever dealt with that site?

Am unable to follow the link from work , so will have to take your word for it chainsaw .

2.09 a gallon thats not bad at all . Up here it is 84.9 cents a liter . So when you do the conversion to a US gallon which is 3.8 liters that is almost 2.50 a gallon and for a Imperial gallon which is 4.56 liters thats like 3.35 US a gallon.

Have never dealt with them over the net , but am sure if you go directly to them in Vegas the service is probably pretty good . I plan on visiting the store while I'm there . Plus a couple of other's like the Ashworth factory outlet :)

8O Man, I'd be rockin' a Geo Metro or depending on the city size a scooter. The whole gas shortage thing is a big conspiracy anyway.
