gocchin
Some people talking X-U and ViQ Utility Wood, is it a high-end equipment? How good are they?Anybody has experience? All TourStage stuff is excellent quality and on the high end. The ViQ Utility is probably the easier club to hit and is probably more suitable for mid to high handicappers. The X-UT will provide a lower ball flight and I've heard it's good for taking the left side out of play. Both excellent utilites, it's more dependent on what you're looking for. Vincenti
Hi Thanks! Currently I use Sonartec md and would be very happy to get a more forgiving club, since the meaning of recovery club it to save your stroke not to challenge your game. Maybe ViQ trajectory will be a bit too high then. I'll try to get some demo then.
alpha_pro
yes gocchin is correct like always. the viqs are a little more forgiving but the x-uts feel way more solid when hit. and what a coincidence that i have one for sale! it is a barely used x-ut 19* 2u. right now its head only but i can include the stock nspro shaft that came with it. i think there is a link in the BST somewhere. it looks almost new! and plus i'll give you a great price. Pm me if you are interested. thanks, dwight

The iRod is crap and you should either get a real RC or other Japanese utilities like TS, Honma, Fourteeen and definitely consider the XXIO. ViQ is very forgiving and tailor for mid to high hcp players. Honma makes a mean utility but expensive of course. It is all in the shafts. Vincenti
Alpha_pro: sorry bro I not sure getting the ViQ yet, the trajectory probably will too high for me. Duffer: AGREE! Sonartec md brings me a lot of problem. The club is nice only if you hit it properly and with power. In the course you made mistakes, and the success rate with md cannot be guaranteed as it's reclaimed in the golf magazines (And I am not a pro too :))) Personally I think the club is simply too heavy and biasing our feeling in the course, we cannot switch clubs which weights vary too much. Thanks for the tip

Thanks for the tip I had a North America Sonartec but just cannot play the iRod. Junked the iRod on the 2nd week and shafted with a Tourstage v700 3 irons that I was not using. This experiment works out great. The club becomes more forgiving due to the shaft profile. If you not a particularly strong player, I would suggest stay away from iRod and Fuji Banzai. They could be good shafts for some but I am just not strong enough to load them. Using the 'unused' 3 iron shaft is the cheapest experiement (make sure tip sizes are the same before pulling.) Sonartec or RC's md is leaning towards more iron-wood design (i.e. Tour Edge) while the ViQ is more (fairway)wood-iron design, if you understand my distinction.
