rudark
After reading comments and opinions posted by other members on a similar topic (thanks by the way), i have narrowed my choices to the epon type j and the tc770 forged. I demoed both today, and hit about 20 balls each, both with NS 950GH shafts. I feel that both are soft, and i assume that both have the NiCr finish? JUst want to know what you guys think about these two options, and if there are other shafts I should look into. I currently use the X-blade 2 with the 1150, and wondering if the epon and fourteen would do well with these shafts as well. Thanks for any inputs. I haven't had the pleasure of hitting either iron, but I will give you my take on the shaft. If you're used to the 1150's and really like them, they should do just fine in the new set. How did you like the 950's. Were they a little light or did they feel good? Maybe you could get the place where you demo'd them to hook you up with the sames clubs with another type of shaft? If you're like me and like the feel of heavier clubs, stay with the 1150's or similar weight shaft. If the lighter shafts feel better and give you better flight, go with them. I got to say you have a tough choice. Both irons look very, very solid. Hey, by the way, since you are a fellow X-blader (at least for the moment) how'd the Epon and Fourteen compared to them? rudark
Blader-X, I will still be using the xblades, and I love them, don't get me wrong. These are great, i just want a player's cb that is not too difficult to hit. About the ns950, its hard to explain the feeling. The lightweight shaft makes it really easy to just walk in and swing at the ball. Unlike heavier DGs and Rifles, you really have to "work" the shaft to make the ball go where you want, and you can't easy swing it like the 950. Hope you know what I mean. The X-blades have a little, I mean very little clicky feel to them, similar to the Epons, IMO, but not the fourteens. You really have to hit them side by side to feel it. IMO, the x-blades give the best feel when you perfectly flush a shot, perhaps maybe because its an mb blade. The epon is dead solid, i think someone referred them to a sledgehammer, and it felt like that. Distance is okay. Fourteens are longer, maybe due to stronger lofts. Fourteens are probably the softest, i think, and the aesthetics and you align the club is unreal, you just want to hit them again and again. I am trying to get chris to help me decide on these choices too. Hope this helps

I wish we could get a lot more to join in because it just helps everyone and its quite insightful. You definitely have a tough choice ahead. I'm sure Chris can shed some light on this matter but you'll have to be patient as he won't be back from Japan for another week and he's going to be fairly busy while they're there.
