Breal
Hey everyone I just recieved my irons and they look great. But they have Nippon 1050 shafts instead on the S200 shafts. I have always used S300 shafts and was thinking of going just a little lighter for more kick and feel. so the S2 would of been right there I think. I was wonder if these nippon 1050 would be to weak for me they have me concerned. with a 105-108 driver swing I dont want to hit it higher then already do and dont want to hit hooks. thanks. rb2235
I swing a little slower than you but a big fan of the 1050's. Give them a try before swapping out. In my experience played as stiff as the S200 but smoother.
al_t
I would have thought the 1150tour would have been closer to your desired shaft? - closer in weight to the S200 and a great feeling shaft that has got much better penetration than the 1050. Beaglehound1959
When I got my R7 I thought the S200 was way to light along with swing weight almost D2, Pw D3,so I put in True Temper Tour Concept Shafts S3 Satin which knocked my swing weight up to E0. So I had to tare them down again and changed the swing weight to D4. PW D5. But I like a more feel in the club head!! They are a sweet set now!! They have my Z101/MR23 collecting dust right now. Do you think most Japanese irons swing weight is less than American made irons swingweight?
idrive
I, personally am not a fan of the NSPro shafts. After my own personal experimenting... I have found the TT Black Gold shafts to be the best yet. Especially for someone that has played or been playing S200-300s What I like is the lower ball flight, feel, but most of all, the consistancy. Didn't feel like I had that with the NSpros. Breal
Yeah I hit the NS Pro 1050 they are good and have a good feel. They also were a little high but had some penetrating flight they were not that bad. I need a few more times out, but as of now I think they will work. The Nippon are nice shafts and I think they are going to be a little lite and need to come down a bit but it looks ok we will see. I might try something different if the shafts dont seem to work and go with the 1150 tour or not sure I kind of like the liteness. I think X flex would be better then stiff then the 1050 shaft and it would be alright. Im glad I got the Ns pro there and upgrade on the S200 anyways, the s200 was going to go anyways. But the irons are so pure and just a tad I mean tad more offset then my R7 tp irons but they set up nice, it looks the same almost they way they set up, I cant get over the feel wow !! these are money makers.
