aimersbent
Does anyone know if the deep milling marks like those found on Gauge Design Gas 2 & SQBT wedges are USGA legal per the following rule? UGSA Rule 4-5 further details conforming club face markings. It begins by defining that surface roughness of a club face must not be more than its decorative sandblasting as determined by a finger test. There are to be no sharp edges or raised lips on the face. Any face material shall not be designed to impart more spin than standard stainless steel and shall not have any characteristics than will unduly influence the spin or flight of the golf ball. Basically this rule eliminates rubber faces that may create a rebound effect, very coarse faces that will provide more spin, etc Edited April 15, 2007 by Aimersbent
