G-Field Fairway Woods

Just noticed that G-Field fairway woods are back in the Pro Shop. Anybody have any reviews?

The gfield fairway woods are very classy looking(steel) and plain and sit square. I have the 3 wood with the Pt-7 Stiff (the 5 /7 wood are with the clubmaker). For me, this is my go-to in fairway 240 yards out club. Off the turf, I know I can launch it high (the rails help, i guess, so does the shallower face) and hit a green 225-235 yards out. I have been able to hit low stingers with the club as well as hit it high and soft when I did not the ball to roll much.

The other day I hit a couple of 270+ yard drives with it, but my typical drive is 240 yards.

from the rough as well as the fairway, its easy to launch the ball high, crucial to get max carry. I have had some ballooning effect from deep rough (4+ inches rough) and i think its primarily because i was aggressive in going after the ball and had a steeper swing (my nemesis with the woods).

A lot of the above is probably because of the combo Gfield head+ PT-7 shaft.

If you have naturally high ball flight or you are looking for just off the tee, consider the EPON too (on my list), but if you are looking for a versatile club for both off the tee + fairway + rough (light) or sitting up in the rough, then consider this club. You will be pleased. Other option could be the royal collection Type H II.

I don't think thaty are back, they probably are just some overstock that never left. There's an extensive discussion from last year in the FW and Utility wood revies section.

I just placed an order, so I can let you know when I get it.

I demo'd into a net at a local shop. Seemed super easy to hit. Felt hot, but it's hard to tell into a wall.

There are quite a few guys here who have G-Field woods in their bag. I'm still carrying a 4 wood. Small sized head with good weighting and balance that is very easy to hit and get up in the air. Feels great and nice sound on impact. As ajaykkr says it sits square and is very classy looking.

These are awesome and dirt cheap in the Pro Shop right now. For me, they were longer than the BBD Royal Collection line of woods. If you are a Sonartec or Royal Collection fan, these are for you.

I have a 3 and 5 wood w/tour AD PT-7 stiff shafts. Great clubs. They are very easy to hit off most any lie.

They are in my back-up bag. Kinda sad, excellent clubs and they just sit there. I might not ever hit them again.

The Epons w/ the quattrotech shaft are better FW's. IMHO

I have the 4 wood with Graphite Design TourAD PT-8 shaft in x-stiff. I really like this club and if it wasn't for the Epons I might have more. That being said, the 4 wood still holds a place in the bag for now. I like the rails on the club as I believe they make the club much more usefull from the rough and even the sand. The rails remind me of the Sonartec TRC utilities which I've had much success with over the years. Pity they don't make that club anymore. The G-Field utilities have the same rails and are just as useful. Good club and I would suggest to anyone to pick up one or two should you come across them. I think the PT series shafts from GD work very, very well with the G-Field head.
