Spoon Posted June 12, 2007 Report Share Posted June 12, 2007 Hi guys i just signed up in this forum but have been a long time lurker, anyway i have been really confused on what wedge set to get to complement my current iron set. ive been using the ping mb tours for awhile and replaced them with my sword katanas which came with my i830 iron set. my current wedge set up is a 56 cleveland 588dsg/58 vokey spin milled. ive been keeping an eye on the yururi gekku raw wedges, yururi seida wedge and even the epons. im very confused and hoping i can get first hand inputs from actual owners and users. thanks in advance:) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

There's been quite a bit written about the Epons, the Yururi's are still a little new but you can find some info on them. Use the search at right and you'll be able to pull up quite a few posts. Both are of the highest quality and it really comes down to a matter of personal preference as well as what you're looking for in a wedge. For me, its the Epon X-models. Never have I put a better wedge in play than those. Simply unreal, yea! Right now, we're really spoiled with the wedges as there are quite a few from which to choose which are of high quality. Bought a couple Yuri Yuri's (still have to shaft them), Tourstage X, PRGR, Fourteen, Vokey, Mizuno, and Epon X and Technity. I'm going to do a test with all of them once i get the Fourteen in the mail and shaft the Yuri Yuri's. But so far, it's not even close, the Epon X is far and away the best feeling. Hard to explain it, just an ideal feel to it. It's not hype man, i wasn't expecting it to deliver to the level everyone claims, but i found myself shaking my head. I've also been experimenting with wedges and still am but so far the Epon is still the king. As for shafts there are as many choices as there are wedges and a lot would depend on your swing speed and type of feel you desire. I've been seeing a mixture of Nippon 1150gh/1050gh and Black Gold's in wedges here, all with good success. I personally am experimenting with graphite in wedges for the feel factor and so far I like it. thanks for the reply Gocchin! anyway i have already decided on a Epon x in copper:) im so excited i cannot wait. with all the options and posts ive read im pretty sure ive made the right decision for now. also decided on the ns pro 1050 S. also eagirly awaiting the chikaras by Carlton, cant wait and am totally going to treat myself to those when they come out.
