rikisan
Just got to try hitting my mizuno Qb-1 midsized putter. feel off the face is similar to the taylormade putters but there is no insert in the face. i noticed a channel on the underside of it with a rubber like filling. i was wondering if anyone has specs, or a tech overview of the putter. i like it a lot and the look of the putter is top knotch. i dont know if i like it because its a good putter or if its new (to be honest im kind of a whore to stuff like this). anyone else used/ has this putter? i didnt get to play a round with it yet but the swing weight is nice and on the practice green it seems to hit em ok. any info/advice is welcome. thanks
gocchin
Hi rikisan, The reason why it's so soft is that the Q series from Mizuno were made of very soft SUS304... feel should be very nice. With the SUS304 putters I've always found the sweet spot to be a touch inside the sightline towards the heel. The small channel you see on the bottom is carbon type filling placed to promote balance. This is one very nice looking putter!
rikisan
thanks for the info. i was just surprised to have that type of feel. the taylor made putters have a weird rubber or something behind the insert and it softens the feel a bit more. i have an old mizuno tp mills putter and the feel to the qb is a bit more filtered or the shock on the qb is less. (not as sharp an impact. maybe its the weight) anywho the mid sized qb-1 doesent have the insert in the heel of the putter but a thin channel in the face and its a soft rubber like filling. ill learn to be a little more technical and post pics. (attached an image of the mid size and the reg) thanks again.
