Initial thoughts on the Epon 460, stock Drev Tour

Holy Cr*p! This is the hottest face of any driver I've owned or tried. What everyone's been saying on this forum is 100% accurate. Now, I don't feel the need to switch out the shaft, as the Drev Tour works PERFECTLY. Zero slice, mostly straight, able to draw if needed. The .5 closed face is barely noticeable (you can't really tell, anyway from address). I can honestly say I will not need to buy another driver...for now ;). Seriously, this will be in the bag for a LOOOONG time.

I'll be selling the Axiv shaft I bought from the Pro Shop soon. I haven't even pulled it out of the plastic sheath yet.

Ajay, thanks again. I'm very impressed. Now I need to shell out some serious dough for the 13.5 FW.

Hope this review was helpful. I'm very happy with the purchase.

Did you order them with the OEM shafts? I want to know how you like them, as I've noticed that your ss and other specs are similar to mine when you posted in the golf shaft academy threads.

actually i ordered it with the stock machline shafts. they are 65grams stiff and from what i heard are very very good. reviews from other members are quite positive. so i decided to give them a chance.

btw originally wanted the 13.5 but opted for the 3wood 15 version as its easier of the deck for someone with my abilities. will let you know when i get my woods

Sounds great. Give us your review on it when you get a chance. I'll do the same once my JPX E500 comes in.

The EPOn fairway woods work very well with the GD quattro tech shafts. you may want to consider using them. Also, if you go with the 15* consider whether you are better off having a 20* or 19* hybrid, that bridges the gap between the 3 wood and the 3 iron (if you carry one or a #4 hybrid).

Yes, I was thinking about this the other day. Do you know if they sell an Epon hybrid, or do the other FW woods (not including the 3 wood) are the traditional shaped heads?

Lastly, what length is the stock Drev Tour shaft? 46'?

Thanks again for the club. Very solid stuff.

no epon hybrid, for me the g-field hybrid with the UT-85 works best. epon woods are traditional to me...but the gfield hybrid is more forgiving than the epon 5 wood in deep rough. In light rough, the 5 wood is same or better. But from the fairway, the 5 wood gives me the distance to go after the par 5 green (second shot).

So i have the Epon driver, 13.5, 18 and a 3 iron for courses with short rough. For courses such as Bethpage black, deep gnarly rough, or deep fescue, i pull the 3 iron for the gfield 20* hybrid. still keep the 5 wood in.

driver length should be 45" (never measured it, but assumed to be 45")

idrive/ajay, thanks for the 411. I'll order a 15* today. This was very good info. I'll order it with the PT-6 shaft.

i am sure you did your research, but you may want to consider a heavier shaft for the 3 wood. better control.

i agree nothing works better than the gfiled uws. i have the 18/20 deg and it gets the most use in thicker rough.
