Gauge Design Wedge Experts : Quick advice please

Is the Type A a Gauge Design Japan or USA model? It has a SATIN finish and the hitting area seems a darker raw finish. It has the Gauge Design Caliper logo (as oppposed to the G field G logo) on the back and "Type A" on the hosel. It does NOT say made in Japan.

So is this a GD Japan wedge?

This is a 60* loft. What is the bounce?

Is this forged?

Lastly, what is the price for a NEW wedge?

Thanks.

Most of the Gauge Wedges use the Caliper logo. The Satin finish and dark hitting area were used for the G-Field GFT wedges but also for the Gauge Type A and Type B wedges. The difference between the A and B were the shape of the head.... apparently the A was a Japanese style shape while the B was more of an American Tear Drop type.

Type A:

Type B:

I'm guessing it is forged. There are some new ones for sale in Japan for around $60-70

Honestly, I'd recommend you get any of the other Gauge wedges, like GASI, GAS SBQT or GASII or even the GFT's. Those are amazing wedges and better developed than the older Type A and B.

Or better yet buy Epon or Yuriri and you will never worry about another wedge... (^_^).

I already have the 52* Gas 2 (fantastic wedge) but they don;lt come in 60*. I know the GAS1 does but the bounce is 10* and same thing for the Seida wedges. Plus the Type A is a Staright hosel while the Gas1 has some offset.
