Posted August 29, 200717 yr Hey guys and gals, I need a little help picking up a new golf bag. I typically ride these days, so I'm looking for a nice cart bag. I guess that's what these are called -- a bag larger than a stand bag but smaller than a staff bag. I'm in the States, so I'm kinda interesed in something a little different (probably Japan issue). I've looked thru the Pro Shop on here, but I'm not too good at figuring out just how big some of these bags are. Any help/suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.
August 30, 200717 yr Any weight preference, material preference, how much stuff do you carry, ie how many pockets do you need?
August 30, 200717 yr Author Weight doesn't matter too much. I don't need a superlight or anything, but I don't want to lug around a trunk, either. I'm kinda looking for a "mini" staff bag. I don't want something quite that big, but I definitely want something larger than the Ogio stand bag I have now. As far as material preference, I don't really care too much. LOL - I know I'm not really helping that much, but I really don't care. I just want something that looks nice and a littel unique. I could go with the polyurethane (or whatever the plasticy-leather stuff is) or a nice, quality nylon. Pockets -- I would like a fair amount. I don't carry an obscene amount of stuff, and I'd rather have too many pockets than not enough pockets. One of the questions I have is what's the difference in a "caddy bag" and a "cart bag?" Is a caddy bag just another way of saying "staff bag?" Is a "cart bag" typically smaller than a "caddy bag?" Some of the bags the pique my interests, but I just can't quite tell how substantial they really are include: 1.) Mizuno Japan Cart Bag 45CM-006 2.) Titleist Hybrid Stand Bag CBSH71 3.) Adidas Authentic Caddy Bag K6671 4.) TourStage Golf Bag CBTS66 5.) Mizuno Pro Series Caddy Bag 45CM80010 6.) Taylormade Authentic Caddie Bag II CB103 Thanks for any help!!!!
August 30, 200717 yr I have a similar adidas bag and the tourstage bag. Of those two the TS bag has more room. Both are excellent bags. Quality is outstanding. The adidas bag draws a lot of attention. Most people do not know the TS brand but they sure want to know where the adidas bag came from. IMO the Mizuno 45CM80010 is the better of the two Mizuno bags (more room) I would never buy a TM bag...

August 30, 200717 yr I have seen the Mizuno bag in person... I wouldn't be surprised if they were made by the same people that make the adidas bag. Excellent bags IMO
August 30, 200717 yr The Japan Mizuno cart bag is a very good choice. I personally really like the Bridgest Paradiso cart bag. It doesn't quite have the mini tour bag look but it is very functional with an abundance of pockets and won't break your back (or bank) if you need to carry it. http://www.tourspecgolf.com/proshop/p1379/...oduct_info.html Both Mizuno bags are very slick looking and are definitely the mini tour bag look. Another good thing about both the Mizuno's is that they have a slightly larger 9.5" opening making it a little easier to get at your clubs.
August 30, 200717 yr Author Are the Mizuno bags smaller than the giant tour staff bags, or pretty close to the same size? I'm really trying to find something that is carryable, if necessary (but unlikely), and not just huge. LOL....I'm not sure I'm making much sense - describing it very well. Thanks for all your help, gocchin and idrive.

Thanks for all your help, gocchin and idrive. I totally understand what you mean. They are smaller than the real tour bags. Most of the pro model tour bags are 5-6kg while the mini versions are like 4-5kg. Less bulky.
September 11, 200717 yr Author Anyone have any other suggestions before I throw darts to pick one??? Thanks.
September 11, 200717 yr Anyone have any other suggestions before I throw darts to pick one??? Thanks. What brand of clubs do you play or what brand do you have the most of in your bag?? That would most likely be the deciding factor (for me) as all the bags you have picked out are really sweet.

Well, my bag is all over the place: Driver = Titleist D2 3 wood = Adams 3070DF Hybrid = Taylor Made Irons = Gauge Design NC-1s Wedges = Scratch and Epon Putter = Gauge Design Neo Leap Mallet I am, however, beginning to consider some new irons for next year.....Kinda considering trying the Epons, Scratch, TM R7s, or maybe even Yururi CBs......
