I was in a Callaway store in a brand new mall in Hong Kong this weekend and saw two sets of x forged irons with Project X 5.0. IMO the X forged is one of the most attractive of any Callaway products (wood and irons) but I am totally ignorant of the project x spec. This shaft option is not even in the Japanese Callaway site. The store itself is basically a clothing store hence no help there. What is 5.0 and how does it compared to nspro 950. DG or Callaway's uniflex steel? Any comment would be appreciated.

5.0 is regular flex

Different animal than Nippon in terms of feel. Nippons much smoother at least in my experience.

I believe this is an Endo forging.

Yes it is forged by Endo.

Thanks guys, found out from Master that the Project X is US spec set while the JDM uses nspro and DG. Beautifully made heads though.

Isn't the 5.0 on the rifle scale a firm flex with regular being 4.5 and 5.5 being a stiff? I recall reading this on another site.

Yes 4.5 on the Rifle scale is listed as an R flex on the Royal Precision site if I remember correctly.

The Project X is very stiff across the line, more so than standard rifles. The PX 5.0 is a very stiff shaft, both as to butt and tip and plays similar to the DG S. Definitely not suitable for someone usually in the reg or firm range of flexes.
