2008 JDM Putters

While the custom Gold Factory putters look sweet, I kinda miss Gauge Design stuff. If I remember correctly, Chris used to post photos of a new Gauge Design putter like every other week or something. I love how they had many different designs to choose from. Now that they're gone, are there any good retail JDM putters coming out?

Btw, what happened to their products when Gauge Design went under? Did anyone take over?

If you look in the gallery you can still see all those awesome Gauge putters.... their departure left a massive hole in the JDM market for a Japan brand mainstream putter that no one has really filled yet.

There are still legal proceedings happening with the Gauge fallout so unfortunately no one took over. If they did not have financial issues like the did from poor management it would have been an attractive golf company to buy with all their great G-Field and Gauge products.

yeah we need more Jspec putters with the option to customize ala gauge. the one that does is way beyond my reach.

Did not realize Gauge had custom option before or were you saying you wish that othe J spec putter maker would be willing to cutomize their putters using Gauge type inserts and weight ports? Anything custom in Japan is expensive and not as simple as changing a shaft and I am sure you can get Romaro or some small ones to do so. I have a custom Matsu in my hand last week that was going for $1,000 but it is not even exotically custom. It was modified design, weight, loft , length and of course, personalized with names and grip.

Well, in theory you can still get Gaunge product in the States from David Whitham since he still owns, I think the name in NA. I am not trying to reopening the legal story of who did what to whom but he basically started the insert business for Gauge years back.
