I am seriously considering the purchase of a set of PRGR TR 900 MD's, but have no idea how they would compare to what I currently play (Titleist 695 CB's). Could anyone who has played these irons give me their opinions as to Ball flight; Feel; Comparision to Mizuno 33's, 32's, 60's etc.... Before I spend $1,200.00 USD, I would certainly appreciate any insight(s) that are available.

Thanks,

Robb

Very nice set that deserves attention from anyone who is after a player's cb/neo blade. They have a fantastic grind, slight bevel and a bit of a roll on the leading edge as well. The stock M43 and M46 shafts are a bit lighter than a DGS300, and have a progressive bend profile if memory serves (can anyone confirm that?). If you baloon other shafts at 100~110 g's you might hit these high as well, but if you are comfortable with the shaft spec, these are fantastic.

I'm not sure if you can do so right now, but at one stage you could custom order them with some Dynamic Golds as well if you were after those.

Another option though, if you are after a players CB from PRGR is the 500 BL. I had a tough time choosing between these and my OnOFF's, but if I was going to pick up another set, the 500 BL would be at the top of my list at the moment.

I'm very taken by the look of these 900 MD's. I prefer a clubhead with a well centered CG, nothing bottom loaded. How are these? Any idea re: the Offset and Bounce numbers? Can't seem to find any usable spec's [in English] anywhere....

Thanks,

Endo forged but a 2006 model... there are better irons out there now even from PRGR who has released 4 or 5 new models of irons since.

Earlier this year they were PRGR's best and still a very good looking iron. They are also not that compact. They feature a face height of 52.9mm, while the 500BL is 42.9mm, 501 is 43mm and the 502's are 45.9mm tall.

I wouldn't say CG is quite centered... it's still on the low side at 20mm up and 35.5mm from the bottom of the hosel (centered heel to toe). There is minor offset.

The 500BL with it's 42.9mm face height and 20mm CG is almost right in the middle.

Here are some 900MD specs but no bounce numbers.

NakedDave in the Buy and sell is selling his set of 900MD 4/p for way cheaper than 1200. Just FYI
