Hi Guys, Bought a R7 quad as a gift for a friend Club had a tour ad 1.65 shaft fitted, this club was/is new,,To keep it short when i inspected the club on arrival,,no serial on the hosel. Everything about this says its the real thing, Tried TM for info on it, they didnt reply,Tried Graphite design and if their shafts are as good as their customer service they are perfect, Gave them all the details etc, serial number on shaft stickers etc and they say as far as possible the shaft is theirs, Club was assembled in Japan, so says the TM sticker on shaft Sits really square came with TM weight kit, TM magnetic HC as i say nothing tells me its a fake , Didnt give it to my friend as i was not sure so now i have a club, with a great shaft in it, te hat i dont need I suppose i cant believe that any faker would put that shaft into a fake,,,so any ideas?

hope this is the right place to post this

Would that be Graphite Design I-65 shaft or 1.65 as stated by you in your post? It does not appear to be a TM stock (Jspec or otherwise) shaft but could it be a J-spec option?

The r7 Quad was offered by TM a few years ago with the Graphite Design I-65 as a stock shaft from the factory. It's a pretty pricey shaft, worth around $300 itself.

Most likely it's real and legit but hard to tell with such a small picture. (^_^)

Here's a used one:

Don't think yours is fake - I had a TP R7 years ago with that shaft as stock - but there are tons of fake TM heads. They are practically cosmetically perfect - but there is a simple way to see if it's a counterfeit..if it has the MWT screws.

The head weights tend to be off aswell.

Take a weight out and weigh it - if they are real they are always spot on. The fakies are never correct because they don't use the correct materials to make them - they are always made from STEEL, rather than aluminium for the light weight screws or Tungsten for the heavy ones. Invariably the 2gram screws weigh 4 grams, but the 12 & 14gram screws weigh only 9 or 10grams.
