indharbor
Will black oxide finish hold up better from wet condition than soft or teflon black? I am interested to know if they are more durable. Anybody experience with black oxide finish? I get to play under wet condition espcially when tee time is early in the morning and I am hesistant to use my soft black finish putter since they get rust so easily even during the round. I hate to see my beautiful putter with any rust. Obviously, beads boron would be the most durable finish but I am interested to know if black oxide is good alternate choice. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
gocchin
I may be wrong but I think Chris once mentioned that Teflon Black may be the most durable of the black finishes. Black oxide still needs to be wiped down and kept from moisture, you can tell as when black ox gets wet, the colors in the black ox practically streak... teflon black water rolls off like a teflon frying pan (^_^)
foosp
Does anyone have any recommendations on maintenance of a Teflon Black Gold's putter? I have one on order and am keenly anticipating its arrival. Any information from memebrs of the board on how to keep the "baby" in good condition will be greatly appreciated. idrive
I have a black ox and a teflon finish. At the end of the round I wipe down the Teflon finish and let dry. Once or twice a month I put a couple of drops of baby oil on my finger tip and smear on the Putter, then wipe off. If you keep this Putter clean and dry the finish will last for years. Mine is about a year old now and could still pass as new. I ALWAYS have a cover on the Putter unless I think there is moisture on the Putter after a "wet" round of Golf. Post some pics of your "baby" when you get it!!!!
foosp
Hi iDrive Thank you for the useful information. I will certainly take your advice. I always use a cover and I am off to buy some baby oil. I will post some pictures when I get the putter. Regards foosp
