Looking to add a 21* utility in the bag. Any feedback on these two? I'd also be interested to know which of the two is easier to hit.

Both are not meant to be easy utility type clubs... they are both geared towards the lower handicapper. The UT-106 is a lot easier to hit than the UT-306 though I think the 306 looks a lot better. The cvXer is slightly easier to hit than it's previous model the Td+ but it's still a very iron like utility wood that's compact and excels best when hit on the screws.

Thanks for the reply T. Yes, they are both designed for the athlete but my question is which one of the two would be more forgiving regardless if they are meant to be for low cappers. Also, want to get feedback from people who have tested the actual club since manufacturer's intentions are not always spot on.

Not a big fan of the ut-306. It felt really metallic when compared to my tourstage x-ut. Maybe the turbo rubber has something to do with it, but the TS feels so solid. Both clubs were the same loft, but I hit the 306 higher than the TS. This is not something I wanted, as I have trouble keeping utilities from ballooning. On a side note the 306 is a great looking club from address. I actually preferred it slightly over the more boxy TS. Hope this helps...

Thanks for the feedback. Maybe the shaft was the contributing factor in your ball flight. In terms of forgiveness, which of the two did you find more forgiving on miss hits. Also, how did the UT-306 perform with shots from not so perfect lies as compared to your X-UT?

I actually played both clubs with the same 2 shafts. First both with GD ut-95 x flex shafts. Then both with Rombax Prototype x-flex. The Rombax is similar to the 8d07hb shaft available thru retail distributors. As usual the GD shaft felt great, but I had problems keeping it down in both clubs. The Rombax brought the flight down, and is a wonderful shaft that that I have raved about on here before. Even still the flight was a little high with the 306. As far as forgiveness, I would rate them about the same with the nod going to the 306 because it is so easy to get in the air. Feel definitely goes to the TS.

i have the x-ut, gauge, royal collection, td and td+, and the ut-306. i will rate the ut-306 and the td+ the best, with the ut-306 getting the edge,

very appealing to the eye, long, got the flight that allows it to land softly, but can hit low at will from the tee to get roll.... i use it for the short par 4s.... less than 360-365 yards and the long par 5s... second shots....
