Mizuno JPX E500 any reviews?

Recommended Posts

Any when hitting these irons? Any feedback on them. Would you recommend?

I just got them a few weeks ago (Thanks TSG!!) and think they are a fantastic iron for a mid-handicapper like myself and probably also for single-digit guys as well depending on their tastes. I was playing with MP-27s which I liked but the JPX are noticably more forgiving and still give a forged feel at impact. I will say not as butter-soft feeling as the MPs but still you feel the compression of the ball. Chris put NS1050s on them at my request, and I like the result, very stable feeling club, lets me swing with confidence.

So they get a strong recommendation from me...

the jpx e500 get a strong recommendation from me as well. I've never played with any other JDM irons, so I don't know how they compare against epons/tourstage/etc. I had a set of mx-25s before, and i think the feel on the jpx is softer and much more forgiving. I have the ns950 shafts in them and love the combination.

I noticed there are two versions of this club? Or am I mistaken, Titanium face, and forged are both offered by miz?

Hi T,

yes there are two models in the JPX 500 iron line. The JPX E500 Forged and the JPX E500 Titanium face.

Very good irons both of them... and the recommendations are well deserved. The Forged is indeed geared towards mid and even low handicappers looking for forgiveness. The Ti face is geared towards mid to higher handicappers looking for performance and forgiveness.

I'm still rocking these. Have not played the MX 23s but switched from X18s. Not the easiest clubs in the world to hit but stronger lofts result in more boring trajectory and additional yardage (about 1 club per iron). As Chris said in another post, I would be careful about stock NS shafts.
