charlatan
I know I have relatively small hands for a man, but I wasn't aware they were petite The folks that did my swing analysis suggest just that. They have suggested that I switch to a womans grip for my irons (and I would assume everything else too). My pinky finger does not wrap all the way around the butt of the grips I have now, which is what I think they based it on. Not sure how common this is, any of you using smaller grips? What grips would you recommend? Aside from comfort, I am not sure what to look for. I don't wear gloves, but use sports tape if I have a rub somewhere that's troublesome. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Edit: Guess I should note that my current grips are standard Golf Pride. Duffer19
Most J spec grip would be smaller than standard North American and if you dont use glove, you should use non-cord J spec which you can stretch out 1/4 inch further to make it even smaller/thinner. I would recommend Nowon 50 series over Iomic if you dont use glove.
charlatan
Thanks Duffer19. I noticed that Nowon also has a 48 series which I think is thinner still. I will likely go that route. Thanks!
gocchin
Yes I have very small hands... cadet small at LEAST maybe even smaller. I use Nowon 48 series on all my clubs and while they are not exactly thinner than Iomic they do feel thinner cause they are softer. They'd probably work for you and they have lots of great colors... even lady-esque ones (^_^)

Still debating on what to do about irons, but in the meantime I figured I would get ahead of the curve on grips. I may just try to do these myself if I keep the ones I have. I am going to order the nowon's shortly. Char
Henry
Hey Gocchin...along the same line, can you or anyone else tell us what the standard J spec grip is versus the standard US grip? Don't know what the measurements would be but I am sure you can advise!! Thanks.
clevelaand
Just go to your local golf store and have them (or do it yourself) install some undersize Lamkin or Golf Pride grips. Like $2.99 for each grip. How can you beat that? Doc
gocchin
The Japanese grips actually do use the same measurements ie M58 M60 and M62 meaning 0.580 0.600 0.620 inner diameter but somehow the do seem slimmer perhaps due to the thickness of the outer walls of the grips (thinner and more lightweight) as well as the material used. Also affecting the grip size that many people don't realize is the butt diameter of the shaft the grip is going on. There is a reason why I use Tour AD-65 rather than AD-75 besides the lighter weight, it has a smaller butt diameter meaning that grips seem smaller on this shaft. Now that is something I certainly hadn't thought about. I suppose I need look further into the butt diameters to see if I can find something like yours.
