ajaykkr
How does the 904HB compare with the UT-85? in terms of ball flight, left/right, accuracy and length etc. what have been your experiences? for your reference, i am a mid-single digit handicapper and i am looking to reshaft a 17* utility (the fourteen 306). I currently have a ut-85 in my 18* gfield. WHats the recommendation and why? thanks for your help in advance. rb2235
Played em both and prefer the UT-85 by a mile. The 904HB is medium launch and very boardy feeling. Playing an Altus HB in my one and only hybrid now and it beats em both.

Playing an Altus HB in my one and only hybrid now and it beats em both. I second the above between the 904 and UT-85. Your pressed, can you compare ball flight, feel etc of the Altus and the UT-85? I heard the Altus hits really high.

Ajay, can you give a comparison of the UT 306 against your past hybrids, forgiveness, trajectory, spin etc.
gocchin
The 904 has a very stiff profile and is typical speeder feel. It's a bit dated which is why Fujikura has launched the all new Rombax hybrids in 50g all the way up to 100g weights. Apparently much smoother feeling but still pretty tight. Blader-X
I have used both the 904HB and the UT-85 as well as UT-95. The UT series is far superior in my opinion to the 904HG. Haven't had any experience with the Altus, but I'm more than pleased with the UT series from Graphite Design. Very high quality shafts. Haven't had any experience with the Altus, but I'm more than pleased with the UT series from Graphite Design. Very high quality shafts. Thanks for the feedback. The fourteen 306 is much larger than my other two hybrids, RC Td+ and Gfield. SO its more forgiving, sits square. Downside is that its less workable. but even with a diamana x flex (i play a stiff), its goes 230-235 yards for me (17*) than the 210-215 of a gfield Hybrid (18*) or TD+ (19*) Once i put the right shaft in, will be able to better evaluate. Any other UT-85 users, who have used the altus HB, please let me know your experience of the two to help me decide. I like that yourspressed said it has a high flight, great for holding the ball on the green.
ajaykkr
anybody have any experience with the bassara hybrid shaft (compared to the ut-85 shaft and altus hybrid)
le burger
Have tried the bassara hybrid, altus hb, xcon8h, ut85 ut65, javln, accra hybrid shafts, but not the 904hb. In terms of feel, ut 85 wins over all and altus hb comes second. UT85 is most consistent and just easy to hit. Trajectory is mid to mid high in my rapture hybrids. I also had the bassara in the rapture but it was subpar to the ut85. Bassara didn't feel smooth nor consistent; felt kind of springy. I would recommend the altus hb too just because it has a nice smooth feel although it is in a heavier category of 90's grams. Kind of tricky to get the right flex with matrix shafts though. With the fourteen hybrids, I wouldn't go with bassara. Why don't you try the altus hb since you have a ut85 already. ajaykkr
after having tried the altus hybrid shaft, i have to admit that its far superior to the UT-85 and basara. Smoth, very stable and consistent and repetitive. Thanks for everybody who chimed in with their views
