jnims29
Would this setup work? I have always hit a 9* or 9.5* driver. I was wondering if it would be advantageous to try a higher lofted driver and pair it with a low spin/launch shaft ala whiteboard?
gocchin
It could be... whats your trajectory and backspin now? Ever been on a launch monitor? Golf is all about experimentation. (^_^)
jnims29
SS- 102-105 Ball Speed- 145-150 Spin-2700-2800 Launch 14-15 degrees Carry-240-250 yds Ball was a ProV1x My main goal now that I think about it, is to hit more fairways. My bad shot is a smothered hook, good shot has a slight draw.

I think your goal is to not necessarily go with a higher launch as your angle is not bad and your spin is not terrible but you could bring it down a bit. Are you still hooking the ball with that YSQ? jnims29
Sometimes i hook the ball, but that is usually a swing fault. Most of my left shots were due to flipping and a very strong grip. I am also very interested in the "Leaderboard" Brett Smith was demonstrating in his videos.
BrettSmith
I'd like to see you consider that Diamana White Board you mentioned, BUT- in a REGULAR flex. You want to be pushing the shaft a little bit harder than you currently are to boost your yardage. Getting it "just right" can be a process, but I really like the corresponding of your provided info relative to the shaft profile. My initial thought is that tightening the mid stiffness and softening the flex will allow you to more effectively load it without getting too much deformation. So much of it has to do with your personal load profile and primary flaws in your move, but the bonus of going slightly softer is that you can always get it "tipped" to tighten it. I wouldn't be afraid to pull the trigger here. You could be looking at an AUTOMATIC 10-15 yards and then another 10 more after you spend a little time letting your internal calibrations sync up to stress the whip. Hope this helps. Keep us posted. jnims29
Thanks for the feedback, now my problem is deciding what head to put on the whiteboard. I love my mp-001 400cc but it can be very unforgiving at times and the Cobra Speed LD with it's draw bias is a hook machine and baloons with absolutely no roll out. The last time I was on the launch monitor was Dec. and now I think my ss is up more around 110. I still am up for trying a Whiteboard in regular flex, but I noticed it is not offered in 73g. This is also the first year I have taken golf seriuosly. I have a mebership now and practice 6 days a week and as many rounds as the wife allows. I am working on smoothing out my swing with the local pro. As of right now my tempo is off the charts fast and my transition is wayyy too fast. Funny thing is I actually shortened up my backswing smoothed everything out and low and behold the hook is gone and in the process i am much more consistent and longer. I am still by no means a smooth swinger, but it is better. I am not a big guy, but I would consider myself fairly strong. Body Stats are 5'9" 170lbs 26 yrs old. Decent shape around 10-12% body fat. BTW I am addicted to Brett's videos I play them over and over at work. BANG...BANG...TAP has worked wonders also "flat left- bent right" is my mantrta!
