Anyone tested the new Vega Zestiam irons? how does it perform vs the Epon AF501-701? Which head and topline is bigger.

My handicap is 20, Me good with my short-mid irons - hit 7 iron 145-155 yards, weak in long irons - 5 iron 170 yards. Thinking of putting them with the Axiv 758M shaft.

would like to hear comments too. i guess the zestaim irons haven't been out long enough for many reviews. which gives a softer feel and has more forgiveness?

I tried them the other day at the range and I wouldn't recommend them for a 20 capper unless you're a good ball striker. Not nearly as forgiving as the AF 501 and nowhere near as forgiving as the AF 701. That said they are quite compact and very soft. Forged by Kyoei and many have commented in Japan on their soft feel. Some may consider them softer than the AF-501 and 701 because both those irons have undercut cavities which produce a small but subtle click on impact. The Zestaim is a very nice looking solid CB made probably for the 5-15 capper.

are there two models of the zestaim? i thought one was a midsize head. also, were these going to be sold as components, and when will they be listed in the pro shop?

The only difference between the two models is loft. One has standard loft and the other is strong loft (4* stronger if I remember correctly 5i 28* vs 24*)

They are very expensive at 165.00 per head retail. I can surely add them to the pro shop this week. As I mentioned above a very nice looking and feeling compact CB from Kyoei.
