Hi T:

What is the story on this new shaft from Graphite Design? Where does it fit in the line up?

It's been in testing for some time now on the JPGA including by Ishikawa Ryo who put it in his driver over a month ago and is already a popular upgrade for many athlete golfer model drivers.

It's considered a low torque control shaft with minimal twisting during the downsing. Stiffer feel than even the MD series but slightly higher launching with a low mid kickpoint. Graphite Design with it's ever leading tour presence in Japan seems to be making more and more models geared for control and faster tempos like the MD, 9003, and now EV.

So is the EV more firm up toward to grip providing the more stiff feel compared to the MD?

I asked Gocchin about it as well about 6-8weeks ago.

I had about 5 rounds on it in a proto head. Can't say which head there may be a name change (clue:damn Titleist :))

I couldn't tell if any tipping was done. I would say that it would work best in a low spin head. I found it to spin a bit much. A guy from GD US told me it is very similar to the YSQ ST (stiff tip) being released next year.

Edited out pics: Just realized there were serial numbers on the shaft, my friend might get in trouble.

If anyone wants pics of shaft and head let me know :)
