aberdeenlad
Can anyone give me some help here Ive just purchased a set of R7 forged irons ( from here !!) and the shafts were too stiff for me. Im looking to see what might be the best option for them? They are going to be a back up set, as ive read so much good things about them on here, and couldnt resist having a go at them ! At present Ive got a set of 301's , the 701's had to go , and they are fitted with the Nippon NSPro V90. I like the shaft and woould be happy enough to fit them in the R7 but if anyone thinks that there might be an alternative Id appreciate the advice Thanks

Tried a few different shafts but always end up with Nippons 1150's (s). Haven't tried the KBS shaft's yet. But am very pleased with the Nippons. xchangmanx
G, a friend of mine has the new matrix MFS iron shafts(graphite). They feel smooth, I don't know how much they weigh, played up in nike blades and they feel like PX weight. I get 10-15 yards more than DG shafts. Though I don' t know anywhere that sells um... can try ebay...

I also shanked a few on the 53 degree, I think its the shaft cuz even w/the 901 wedges I've got um in x100 too and I shanked a few... Never happens w/any other wedges, I don't have any other x100 wedge shafts. Also I bent those guys to 1flat so might wanna get that undone too. They are extremely extremely easy easy to bend, the iron is so soft. I think you might be able to bend it yourself. anycase hope you get in many rounds before your next trip to work. aberdeenlad
if id shanked anymore today id have bent them good and proper !! hahaha ill get them out at the practice ground ( hopefully when its quiet ) ive got a pair of epons and the JTV to keep me going for now hopefully the weather wil be ok and ill manage to gt the clubs out inbetween feeds of the baby hows your own game going? any sign of the epon blades back from the brother ? cheers
idrive
Good choice with the KBS. If you're going to be fit by someone I'm going to say you end up with a stiff shaft soft stepped once. If you're not going to be fit by somebody I would suggest Stiff, soft stepped once. :)

I need the DGs low ball flight.. I'm prolly gonna go S300. cuz the px gets up on me fast but bores. good but I need help starting it low. brother still has the tours... he is playing almost every day, I'm prolly gonna let him keep those and I'm gonna take his money and order me a new set. aberdeenlad
well the r7's have been shafted with the KB tours and I have got mixed reports tell Indeed the feel of these irons are so good better than the 301's by miles. The short irons perform like a dream ... when the swing is going well, put a bad swing on them and look out !!! The long irons 3 to 6 have given me no pleasure ive got to say. Off the deck its been hard to get any sort of decent or consistant flight. If im totally honest i think its down to my swing rather than the clubs. Im thinking of selling them as they are too good to be sitting in the spare room catching dust. the fact ive still got the 301's eases the pain a bit. Ive got a set of burner 09 that im going to give a bit of course time when i get back on dry land If anyone wants to make an offer for the r7's feel free !! They are in real good shape, with the kb tour 90 shafts and yellow ! multi compound grips G
