idrive
I've had these in the bag the last couple of rounds. Just wondereing if anyone else might be playing these and what they think of them. I'll have my review at the end of this coming week after I've played 4-5 more rounds with them. antiochmikes
I purchased a set also about 3 1/2 weeks ago, I love the look and the feel of these irons, the S25 forging are very soft. I have played 6 rounds with these and I am very happy with them. I did have a problem with the irons but I was able to correct that with the exception of 1 iron, am talking with Chris and Gocchin and hoping to get it resolved this coming week. idrive
I bought mine "heads only" and had Goodsie install KBS black nickle shafts. They look fantastic!!! No problems with the irons and Goodsie did not mention any problems installing the shafts.

idrive
Jeff, I am interested in hearing more including about the wedges. I've had the DP2010 - 50* in the bag for about 2 weeks now, the 54 and 58* Proto's will be here in a couple of days. The 50 is a 51 I had bent when I originally ordered it. No need to wait and play this wedge any longer to tell you this isn't leaving the bag anytime soon. This wedge is money. I can't wait to get my hands on the Proto's. I'll review the wedges in detail after I get the DP2010 proto's and have a chance to hit them. Goodsie says the Proto's look great. hope to see these clubs in a few weeks Jeff when I get out your way!! I have a feeling you're going to really like these. Looking forward to our game!! Not really a flaking, but bag rubs that you can't see from 4 feet away but look kinda ugly up close.

Keen
How are the Proto wedges? ...and are they equivalent to the DP2010 WEDGE in the proshop? Edited October 13, 2009 by Keen
gocchin
Any one who is interested in the Proto's can contact me as we have a few from the Three Luck tour van as described here: http://www.golftoimpress.com/2009/09/three...eam-jump-wedge/

I currently have a Yururi Gekku in 61 and unless I hit that thing perfectly I pretty much dig a hole underneath the ball (I hit it pretty steep). The Yururi only has a bounce of 5*, so would the proto be a better club for a digger? What lofts do they come in, the same as the other Sky Dreams? The lofts are the same and they are better suited for a digger as the Proto actually has a slightly wider sole. The DP-2010 has no 60* loft though. The DP-2010 has no 60* loft though. Thanks! No worries, I'm aware of that. I'm leaning towards replacing my 56* and 61* with a 58* anyway. How much for a 58 head only? idrive
I have a couple of rounds in with the Proto's now. If you're a digger you'll love the 58*. I've only hit a couple of full shots and you will not dig with this club. Most of the shots I hit were the very delicate short sided no green to work with shots. The club opens up and lifts the ball and sets it down perfectly. Saved myself a least 2-3 shots yesterday. The grind is extremely versatile. Playing again this afternoon, plan on hitting a shag bag before the round. I'll get a review up tonight.

idrive
Size and shape/Looks: For me, they are the perfect shape. The size of most blades, with a thin top line and sole. From address you would think you are playing a blade. You do not see the "cavity" back. The finish is fantastic. Nice smoke color that is holding up very nicely. Not to dark or light. Mine are shafted with the KBS black nickle shafts and do they look good. Possibly the best looking (IMO) set I've seen. Feel: Not what I am used to. I am a blade/players CB player. I love feedback for hitting both good and bad shots. They do not feel as soft as most blade/players CB's. Much more difficult to feel the ball coming off of the club. I think "muted' would be the best way I could describe it. This was possibly the most difficult thing for me to get used to. Don't get me wrong, they are as solid or even more solid feeling as any club. But to tell where you hit the ball a lot of times requires a look at the club face to see the ball mark. Forgiveness: This is where they shine the brightest. They are by far, the most forgiving club for their size I have ever hit. Shots hit out toward the toe seem to go as far as a ball hit in the sweet spot. Even shots hit high up on the club face carry very well. Overall they are extremely forgiving. Quality: I don't think it could be any better. My personal thoughts: Excellent grind for most conditions and players. If you are a digger you will really like the grind. If you like to pick the ball and play on very hard fairways they might have a bit too much bounce for you. They play best when you go after the ball, aggressive swings seem to be better than timid swings. If you are looking for a smaller head with all the forgiveness you can get you can't go wrong here. If you are a feel player and strike the ball extremely well and don't care about forgiveness I would probably look elsewhere. Am I glad I bought these? Yes, but I will admit that it took me longer to "dial" these in than most other sets that I have played with. I wish I would have put some range time in first before heading out right to the course with them. I struggled with them right out of the gate. Now, they are working quite nicely, Thank You!!!
