EdChoi
I'm looking to get a 4/5 wood for my mother to play. I can tell that the egg fw and egg spoon are slightly different, but can anyone give more detail on the differences? (she mentioned when she was in korea that she hit a fairway made by daiwa and had the some type of reference of 03, hence why I'm thinking this is it. daiwa makes prgr clubs correct?) are they both titanium? which is better to hit off of the fairway? How do I choose which one for her? On the pics in the pro shop here, the clubs look different.. When you read the spec charts from PRGR, it says the spoon has a stainless steel sole, while the fw has a sole multi-metal compound sole. My mother hits hit 07 burner ladies 5 wood fairway anywhere from 140-160 (but she does not hit it high), I'm having a hard time trying to figure out which model and which flex to order for her. Any help is most appreciated Edited November 8, 2009 by EdChoi
Blader-X
Only difference is the lofts. The Spoon comes in 13, 15 and a 4 wood loft of 17. The fairways start at a 5 wood loft of 18 and then two more models at 20 and 22.
Randy
I just compared my EGG Spoon 15 degree and EGG #5 and the only difference I see is that the Spoon is longer from front to back. I think they would be a good choice as they are very easy to hit and get the ball up in the air nicely.
EdChoi
I just compared my EGG Spoon 15 degree and EGG #5 and the only difference I see is that the Spoon is longer from front to back. I think they would be a good choice as they are very easy to hit and get the ball up in the air nicely. Thanks to both of you for the help so far, so the egg fw is a titanium face as well? The official specs on the prgr site are confusing. The description here says both clubs are titanium face, but if you look at the spec sheets for both, it lists the eggspoon as having a titanium face with steel sole, while the eggfw having a su630 stainless face with tungsten multi metal combination sole. Blader-X
Here's what Gocchin wrote yesterday in a similar post: The difference is the EGG Spoon BODY and FACE are Titanium which is why it is like a driver. The EGG FW is SUS630 Stainless steel. The Spoons are built for hot feel and distance while the FW is more for accuracy and solid feel. http://forum.tourspecgolf.com/t28883.html Hope that helps Ed.
