Hello,

I would like to know if it is possible (or advisable) to have laser engraving done on graphite shafts? I think laser engraving just barely penetrates the surface, but am concerned about damaging the shaft's integrity.

Has anyone out there had this service done or have been told it should not be done?

thank you,

jnc

i have seen it done. i have seen very shallow engraving done by hand on graphite shaft.

imho it will not affect the shaft integrity . but better it be done in the grip or below the grip

area instead of near the head for obvious reasons.

what do you plan on engraving on your shafts?

just my name and driver's license number, which could help recover them if lost or stolen.

With that info engraved, they would be less likely to be stolen.

I have a Fujikura shaft with a serial number engraved on it it is a 5Z08 stiff flex.

It has an SST Pure sticker on the shaft (I got it as a shaft pull) so it could be from that.

Seems like it can be done, so it should only be a matter of who can do it for you :)
