Ryoma V-Spec/Crazy TJ-46 Noir Review

So for I have gotten in two range sessions and two rounds with my Ryoma V-Spec 10.5* driver with a Crazy TJ-46 Noir 6.7 flex shaft. My previous driver was an Epon 460 10.5* with a Matrix X-con 5 stiff flex.

I've had the Epon for years and never felt the need to switch until reading all the hype regarding the Ryoma. My driver swing speed is in the upper 90s to 100.

Well, after a couple of rounds I also now a believer. Even though both the Epon and Ryoma and the same loft, the trajectory I am getting with the Ryoma is significantly lower and more piercing. Not too low, but a much flatter more piercing trajectory with lots of roll and about the same carry. The first round I played was under fairly windy conditions. The wind was really blowing my playing partners drives around. With the Ryoma/Crazy, my drives were string straight. My parters were impressed as was I. But what was also surprising is how forgiving this driver is. I made a few bad swings cutting across the ball. I was expecting a fair amout of left to right slice, but only got about half as much curve as I expected. Mis**ts weren't penalized as much either. I did not hit the drivers side by side on the course, but the course I played I know very well. The Ryoma/Crazy combo was consistently longer than the Epon. I always new I was giving up a little distance with the 10.5* Epon to keep the ball in the fairway, but with the Ryoma I am getting more distance and more forgiveness. Quite a combo.

The feel of this driver is also very solid. Not quite as soft feeling as my Epon, but brick-like solid. Needless to say this club will be in my bag for a long time.
