Mjr. D
I have a set of Epon 302's with Matrix Program 130 shafts. +1 inch in length. I have several grips that I want to try out. They range from .580 to .600 I'm looking to build some up to midsize, and some up to Jumbo. I've been told the Matrix Program 130's are .625 in butt diameter. The tape i'm using is this stuff here - .0075 exactly. Not the typical .006 stuff - My link CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME - CLEARLY - 1) How many wraps of .0075 tape do I need to make a .600 grip midsize and also jumbo. 2) How many wraps of .0075 tape do I need to make a .580 grip midsize and also jumbo. VERY appreciated.

Mjr. D
Myself. Too expensive to get a club builder to re-grip. Plus they always come smaller than desired, going that route.

mojo2W
just go get midsize or jumbo grips... adding three or more layers of tape...they would "shrik" after a while... the thing is that....no matter what grade of tape...they always has glue and backing material...film or paper. depending on the conditions...dry/wet....the glue usually gets "dried" after you used them for a while....then the grip shrink or twisted around the shaft... hope this help. Mjr. D
Midsize and jumbo grips weight a lot more and alter swing weight. Building up with tape does no alter swing weight as much. Not to mention, you can't get a 1/10 of the styles and or colors in midsize and jumbo. Of course I considered all this.

You might just have to go the trial and error route until you find what works, man. I know I had to go that route myself. Now for me its two full wraps of tape the length of the grip and then three wraps of tape, 5" long from the top of the grip down. Yea, I build the top hand more than the bottom. I really couldn't tell you if its midsize, jumbo or what but its what works for me and that's about all I can say. Good luck and don't snap at 140 mph. Speed kills baby!
