DaleUK
Ok there.... If I was to trim a Stiff flex shaft at the Butt end, what or how would it play??.... Is it possible to create more "whip" feeling ??? Or would I be better to tip a Reg shaft??? I'm only trying to experiment in the black art of club fitting!! Spoon
if you cut the club at the butt end you will make it stiffer in number BUT you will hardly feel the difference probably increase stiffness by 2-3cpm max. negligible imho. now trimming a reg shaft is a diff story, youd feel that for sure. dont expect to get a full flex up with tip trimming, remember your going thru sub flexes and are lucky to get half a flex up. danger of tipping too much is you will affect the original characteristics of the shaft. be careful but have fun. weve all been there. DaleUK
Cheers Spoon, I'm after a Firm flex Shaft.... So if I tipped a Reg Shaft by, say 1/2 inch would I be in the right Field?? Edited September 28, 2011 by DaleUK
Spoon
Cheers Spoon, I'm after a Firm flex Shaft.... So if I tipped a Reg Shaft by, say 1/2 inch would I be in the right Field?? youd be headed in the right direction but would fall short. your shaft would play softer than a firm regular. get the shaft you need in S flex.
