swisstrader
How is the Harrison shotmaker treating you? Been wanting to try those but don't know what flex would suit me Didn't love it...had it installed by an authorized shotmaker dealer who said it would work in my voodoo even though Harrison recommended it would not. Rattled around after two drives. Harrison to their credit offered me up one of their shafts at cost and dropped it in there (did this one myself with the tool I purchased) and had a very dull and muted sound and not much dispersion improvement or distance. Harrison suggested I take out the insert and see how the Harrison/Nike VR combination feels without the insert and perhaps I needed a stiffer insert, but still not in love. Too much to tinker with even for a guy who likes to tinker. I should sell both the tool and insert at some stage cuz it cost me some. ant
if that Nike driver also feels like persimmon I would take it from you, I can use a forgiving persimmon :) seriously, I dont think any of modern metal heads, no matter how well they made, sound or feel better than persimmon hit on the screws pure and really compressed but thats just me. I know what you mean about Nike drivers tho, had them before, SQ and Dymo, they aint exactly great in sound/feel department, especially sound and especially SQ. My current drivers basically suck, but get the job done. I have a Nike Sasquatch with a Proforce shaft that sounds like a big ole tin can each time I hit it. At the other end of the spectrum I have a Nike VR driver with a Harrison shaft w a shotmaker in it and it's the other extreme in that it is so muted that is sounds like a persimmon wood. Just funny for me that the Sasquatch sounds like a tin can and the VR sounds like persimmon...both from the same company. Both soon to be sold in preparation for new either Epon or Ryoma and still looking for that allusive spoon:)

Eca
I do also think the nailed persimmon sound is awesome & that's showing my age. The performance & cracking sound of the titaniums since Callaways BB early 90s really shifted the paradigm on sound and driving proficiency perception. That's why their cutting edge tech, Callaway C4 in 02 was a flop coz it had a dull/muted more persimmon sound instead if the powerful cracking sound the majority got accustomed to.
