lousifers
Hi all, I put Crazy royDeco R flex normal length (46") to my Ryoma Premia 10.5, along with standard Ryoma grip which is 50g. Head and total weight is 193g. and 295g., I got 225 as CPM. However, I hit it only 160yrd. either very low or balloon. My SS is 80 MPH. I know most part should be my swing right now, but can anyone confirm that the shaft I got is normal spec of Crazy? I mean 225 should be the CPM I got? Thanks. Shankopotamus
225 cpm seems off, especially at such a light head weight. But I'm sure Tario would be able to confirm for sure. Most of the regular flex shafts that I install into 195ish g driver heads have come out to the 240-245 range.
FatMan
I wouldn't compare the CPM to other shafts. Remember that the Royal Decoration has a softer butt profile.
pca168
Had the same setup made by Tario. Swing Speed is the same as yours. I hit a good bomb yesterday way pass 270 because of wind. Normal around 210 yards. Won 1st Runner up trophy yesterday OPEN division with handicap. Two trophies in two consecutive days. Saturday and Sunday. Saturday Champion trophy for Class C. I am so LOVIN it.
gocchin
225cpm with the RoyDeco at 46" is right on. I tested one at Crazy at 46" and D2 which was 223cpm. Why you're hitting only 160y does not make sense. The RD is a mid launcher and does not balloon much. Are you hitting down on the ball causing a lot of spin? Hi Tario, I see where you are coming at now wirt to my request for Crazy fitting. The RD's do seem soft. YOUr CPM number is based on a 5/6/7 inch clamp and grip on/off/ Hope to hear from you via PM again.
lousifers
Hi Tario, My grip is 50g and SW is D0. Good to here that nothing wrong with the shaft, taking out one factor. So, now it's my swing. Yes, I hit down the same for all clubs and let the set up make it different. Thanks all useful answers. I'll post it again after fixing my swing. Duffer19
I bought a Royal Decoration in R2 flex for a senior doctor friend to see whether he can regain some lost distance. Mind you that he is 76 years old and has a bit of a hip problem. Put it in a PRGR something head at 46" and SW of D0 and with his low to mid 70 mph swing speed, he was able now to drive about 180 yards which is at least 10 yards more roll than his SL4 GD shaft. He was a good player at low teens when he was younger and the RD is able to give him some renewal energy/interest in his golfing life. He is so happy with the RD shaft that he ordered another one with the Crazy head this time. Perhaps the RD is not for everyone but certain works for my friend. The CPM for the R2 is 205 at 46" and SW of D0. I do not know the head weight of the PRGR. Edited February 14, 2012 by Duffer19
idrive
Just confirming everything... I don't think it's possible to balloon the ball with this shaft, in any head. With the Ryoma it's a low-mid piercing shot that rolls. Wind doesn't get it, unlike any other driver combo's I've ever played. If you play in the wind..... Mark Uhm...you're hitting DOWN on the ball with your driver and wondering what the problem is??!! Dude: The driver is the ONLY club where you should be hitting UP on the ball, otherwise too much spin and hence zero or crappy distance. lousifers
Hey guys, Thanks for all inputs. I 100% trusted this configuration so buying without having a hand on it before. Maybe I'd be better off with R2 flex but the result shouldn't be like that I agree. It's all my swing as I said but it's ok to hit down on all clubs I mean same swing for all but set up will help us hit about way up for driver. Tiger at his peak also did the same. Anyway, will post the result in a few weeks. Crazy said I can exchange the shaft if I want to but shouldn't be the case. Easy guys. I'll do my best to make use of this great club/shaft after paying $$$ Mark

Duffer19
Thats what I read from Sean Foley on GD recently about hitting down with the driver. Unfortunately this is a new trick that this old dog cannot learn. It might work if one has the swing speed as Tiger but for us mere mortals, it might not work effectively (hitting down with a driver). Since the Premia has a deep face, I would need to tee the ball a bit higher and more towards my left side than I would do so with my EMS which is mid height. lousifers
Yes, that's what the shop told me. For this club, my friend just placed an order for me when I said I wanted it (but I paid him later.....). The japanese shop in Singapore, not TSG for this one.
