Hitting the Honma Beres Pro Irons indoors

Hi Folks,

had a chance to hit the Honma Beres Pro 7-iron in a black finish today indoors. It was shafted with a NS Pro GH950 stiff. I never really had Honma on the radar. Especially not the Beres Pro model, since i am not a player type of golfer. I was actually just curious to see if I could handle this club.

As mentioned before, the club had a black finish to it. Looking down at address it looked very nice. A tad small heel to toe for my taste. Kind of intimidating. But the black finish looked beautiful. Nice clean lines a address. Small cavity but not visible at all at address. Not too round which I like. I don't really care much for the red badge in the cavity, but it's not visible once the club is behind the ball.

Performance wise I was really surprised. Not sure what it was, but I was middling it on all of my shots. They had a trackman there. Don't remember all the numbers but I remembered smash factor on all shots being around 1.4 and higher which I was told is pretty ideal on irons.

Feel was also really nice. I would describe it as soft and solid, but still with some "zipp" to it. The club seemed to be producing good ball speeds. Mid launch. To my surprise spin numbers with the NS Pro GH950 S were quite low according to the Honma rep. Bear in mind that I was hitting it indoors, so I could not really follow ball flight.

All in all I was pleasantly surprised by this model.
