Posted March 13, 201212 yr If you was to trim a light shaft, at the Butt end, would this alter the Torque numbers on the Shaft??
March 13, 201212 yr Although T and others on this forum would vote against trimming the tip, but I'm pretty sure you can trim a good amount off the butt end and *not* alter the effective torque on a shaft. Edited March 14, 201212 yr by Shankopotamus
March 14, 201212 yr I dont think torque numbers would be affected by butt trimming ....i doubt tip trimming would affect torque much either.....Torque measures a rotational force and trimming would probably only affect stiffness.......( disclaimer : im a chemist, not a physicist )

The difference might not be significant though. I don't know, I'm not a chemist or physicist, I'm just an average golfist.
