Mybluc4
While I've probably discussed this before, but for those board members who may not know James Ingles, you should. James' family is well known and highly regarded for their shotguns. James has transfered his artistry and craftsmanship to the design and production of putters. His engravings and designs are just beautiful. You might want to check out his website: www.jamesinglesputters.com. Here a few examples. ant
looks great but anybody knows if its any good besides the looks ? i know its no rocket science to make a 8802 blade head but still. their pricing and custom options seem to be reasonable and i started to wonder if maybe i could ask them to make me a no offset blade i always wanted. Ant, Here is a comment from a guy on another forum that gives some insight into what can be done: "Yes. He can do some amazing stuff. For example, antique Damascus shotgun barrels that can no longer be used in shotguns since they won't pass proof (essentially meaning they are not strong enough to stand up to modern loads) can be fashioned into parts of the putter, and if you get really lucky he can even include the original (some from the Victorian era) proof marks on that piece of steel, from which you can often determine who made the shotgun, the buyer who commissioned it, and other details. He also has access to the premier case-hardener in the UK. And the premier engraver. And, and, and. You're limited only by your imagination and your budget."
ant
thanx. i'm not really into damascus style look or pimp my putter kinda thing in general if anything i like it to look as simple and clean as possible ie no marks, paint, engravings, color, finish or texture changes visible at address or any of that. i'm more interested if anybody has one and can comment on how well they roll the ball, how well they are balanced that sort of thing and how competent that company is as club designer not shotgun maker. for instance if i ask them for straight no offset 8802 that would change the balance of the blade from standard half shaft offset design that sort of thing. ukok
I have a 28g model, slightly pimped in coldur A (see previous post on subject), Really nice, roll is excellent and the feel is as good as any Circle T etc. Speak to James, he can tell you exactly what or what cannot be done.
