December 11, 201212 yr I just got my Jbeam 435 R 9.5* and my driver spin dropped from 3300rpm on the Romaro HX 460 10* rpm and my Ryoma 9.5* 3500 rpm to a stunning 2100rpm all with the same shaft. Ball flight is dropped from 12 yards . Edited December 11, 201212 yr by dodo
December 11, 201212 yr Author Sorry for the confusion. The 425 Tour and 435II are similar in performance, but I found the 425 easier to keep lower and I liked the fact it was easier to keep consistent in windy conditions, which I play in quite often. Loft for loft, they are pretty close in performance. When I say the 425 is easier to keep lower, I am getting very very picky. I wouldn't mind playing the 435II at all, especially in good weather. For Romaro the 435LX, does get up slightly higher. Good to add some carry distance with. But we must remember that the jBeam heads were talking about are very low spinning heads that are designed to keep a flat trajectory. (one of the lowest spinning heads I've played) Thanks again for chiming.. I was actually had the 435 and not the 435II in mind LOL. As for spin, everyone says Jbeam heads are very low spinning. I find them low spin but not very low. I found the V-Spec 9.5 lower spinning to the extent of being too low spinning.

Hope its the same for the 460HX Gold version as well as I have a 9.5* o the way in. Edited December 11, 201212 yr by wmclarenf1

Yup. jBeam heads have been my friend for a while haven't found a replacement for them yet. And interesting about the V-Spec. I het it a few time but with a shaft that was a bit too weak for me so it was hard to tell. I did notice that the ball stayed relatively flat, even with a weak shaft. And finding that perfect spin rate is no easy task. It's always about finding the right combination (shaft, head, weight, etc) and I love that never ending search for that perfect club! :)

December 14, 201212 yr I just got my Jbeam 435 R 9.5* and my driver spin dropped from 3300rpm on the Romaro HX 460 10* rpm and my Ryoma 9.5* 3500 rpm to a stunning 2100rpm all with the same shaft. Ball flight is dropped from 12 yards . So you're saying 12 yards less carry?
December 14, 201212 yr So you're saying 12 yards less carry? Sorry no 12ft lower ball flight was 44ft top now the top is at 32ft . Carry almost the same but running much longer(Data was not on the same day so different weather circumstances) For me this is a totally different driver I ever played, all 9.5* driver I have played are higher spin I can only get this spin rate with a 8.5 and a low spin shaft like the Diamana ahina. Also the feel is different I don't know how to explain it but explosive for sure.

December 15, 201212 yr The 460HX 10*is more forgiving 12ft higher ball ball flight and 1000rpm higher spin but I get the (almost) the same carry with the 435R. The lower spin will and lower landing angle will give me much more roll. It is winter here and my course muddy and very soft my drives where stuck in the ground but with the 435R the ball still rolled. Only downside on my bad shots I slices more then the 460HX. Here is a little video for sound I have to say under a roof it sounds louder because of the higher pitch sound. http://www.gew.co.jp/tieup/1207/JGE.php http://ameblo.jp/reflexgolf/entry-11349562599.html Edited December 15, 201212 yr by dodo

What CONSISTENT increases in distance are you seeing and seeing that it is less forgiving than the 460HX and you;re slicing more, have your fairway hit percentage gone down significantly?
December 15, 201212 yr My home golf course is to wet and muddy to do a proper test only did 9 holes the last week . I only hit it on the driving range and once the launch monitor. On the driving range I can see the same cary (ball lands in water) but with the lower ball flight and less spin a will get tons of roll, so I can not wait to bring it on the course when the weather gets better. I have to get used to the lower ball flight I only slice it when I try to hit it higher. Edited December 15, 201212 yr by dodo
