shacco
I bought a crazy ly02 in s flex sometime last summer I think from a fellow tsg member. It has been sitting here because I didn't want to install it since I was still a bit unsure about flex. Now I am thinking if I shouldn't trade it for a sr flex. I would like to hear your opinion on it before I do anything. I do fight the right side from time to time. Currently, I have a roddio w6ba in stiff flex in a yamaha v201 10º head installed. I like the feel and flight but have been experementing with lighter shafts in my fw and I feel they are a better match for me. Much less effort needed. Therefore, the crazy ly02 was my choice. A lighter shaft that is draw biased. My SS is avaraging about 98 mph +-. I tend to get a stuck behind on my swings and leave the face open at impact. Really bad combination;) But when I get it right the swing feels more free. I'm working on it. I know that a shaft won't cure my swing faults but it might make the miss not as bad as it is now. Slow take away and smooth transition at the top I would say. What flex would you suggest on the ly02? Should I trade it for a weaker flex? Thanks. wmclarenf1
I would suggest a Regular flex and no more than a SR flex. I have played the SR flex and while I can handle it, I am a play the softest flex you can control kinda guy. More swinger (ugly swing though :-) ) than hitter. Duffer19
For what it's worth, I have just installed a TJ46 6.7 flex (SR) on a 196g Ryoma head. The cpm is 250 @46" playing length. I am usually play a after market Jdm in R flex and oem in SR flex. The 6.7 is definitely stiffer than I am used to but was able to adjust to it after about 6 holes (my 2nd game with it later today so more conclusive opinion later). My ss is only about 86 to 88 at best but no problem with right or left side with the tj. I choose the tj over ly 02 due to lower kick point on the TJ for the Ryoma which is lower launch. A SR is probably a safer bet.
Vegaman
I played the LY-02 in X flex (8.2) it cpm's out to 280...I'm for sure a hitter more than a swinger but I thought this shaft felt very stout while just waggling it. Strangely though, it felt much less stiff during the swing, kinda like it comes "alive" during the swing. Had no problem loading it at all. I think it's the light weight that plays a large part in this. With these super light shafts, even very stiff feels managable and "loadable". The light weight also makes the head a larger part of the clubs total weight, meaning (I thnk) a flexier feel. With your SS I'd say stiff is pretty much spot on? Especially if you are looking for a not so high ball flight. The softer shafts will add spin, maybe too much of it. If the Crazy is going in the Yamaha, I'd say it's perfect, since the Yamaha is 10 degrees. A softer shaft at your SS would probably mean a 9 degree head to keep the spin down. shacco
Hehehe. So let's resume: Wmclarenf1: R flex, sr flex the most Duffer: Sr flex Vegaman: S flex Thanks guys. Now I am more confused than ever, LOL. Just kidding, I really appreciate every input here. Keep it coming. In the end, I am still the one who has to make the decision and live with it. Duffer19
Definitely not more than SR on the TJ if your ss is 98mph. I struggled with the 6.7 a bit today, my 2nd game with it. It does run alot with the shaft though. A 6.4 might be better for me.

Duffer19
Shacco, you are welcome to fly in to Hong Kong and try my Ryoma with TJ46 6.7 to see whether you need less or more flex. :-)
shacco
Shacco, you are welcome to fly in to Hong Kong and try my Ryoma with TJ46 6.7 to see whether you need less or more flex. :-) Duffer, thanks for the offer. But HK is quite far from Germany for a weekend trip;) But I'll keep that in mind. I guess I will just install the shaft and see how it goes. Unless, someone in Europe has an LY02 in SR flex and is interested in a trade. Anyone?
