wmclarenf1
I hope you game them... I can imagine the first shot from the bunker might be a bit tentative tho :tsg_smilie_smile2:/> A couple of bunker shots with the 60 already. Heck, they are wedges and are meant to be hit! Not tentative from that regard. I find that out of the bunker the DWD 60 doesn;t hold as well as the Miura but again, only 2 number shots so far and definitely nothing bad so still very initial and premature to cast any judgement. Spoon
nice one sir. you even have the epon ferrules! spanking nice combo. i plan to obtain the 1 fleur de lis and 3 fleur de lis combo down the road!
wmclarenf1
Thanks C. The original DWD ferrules are funky as well, some kind of carbon fibre effect but in gold. I managed to save them but opted to use my older Epon ferrules given the matching color scheme. DWD have the silver looking ones as well but those come with the black/rust DWDs. wmclarenf1
Just an update on the DWD wedges after several more rounds: 60* - Just fantastic out of the bunker. Opens up very well and distance control is very good. Doesn't spin back as much as the Miura though (my old raw non-conform Miura, not the Y grind which sits in my golf cubby and has not even made it to the fitters to get shafted). Overall I would say the DWD is better by quite a bit and the finish holds up very well despite my using it only out of bunkers and 1 flop which I did not look forward to but managed to pull off. 54* - This is where the jury is still out. With my Miura conforming, it held greens very well and you could really attack the pin with above average confidence. The DWD 56 bent to 54 is still good but maybe I just need more game time with it. I did say this has the very big shoes of the Miura 54/7 to fill. 50* - Have dialed in the distance with this and this hold as well as the Miura. Greenside chipping is good and this has left me with many many one putts. Frankly I was a tad skeptical about the DWDs as really, they ain't cub makers.... but what this MT dude has done with these wedges.... good stuff and I'm very pleasantly surprised. Wedges that perform as well as they are loud in appearance! These wedges are staying in the bag but the Miuras will still be kept for now. wmclarenf1
Just an update to those interested. The DWD wedges continue to work really well especially the 54 and 60. Around the greens, have really been able to put it close on many occasions. With the 54 for a gimme par save o realistic birdie try. 60 is great out of bunkers and for flops when I do dare try it which is not often at all. Someone recently posted that some may be tired of reading the same posts that clubs are still working well but I find ongoing reviews good and of even more worth and relevance as it is post honeymoon, helps to sift through some of the bs and of course indicates that it could work for you as a longer term gamer... So as I started this post, for those interested.

wmclarenf1
Thanks A - great ongoing feedback on those wedges.... i never gave em a thought until i read your ongoing post about em !! Thanks Ed. The S-Yard Bold really intrigues me but truth be told, with the DWDs working as well as they are, I'm really hesitant to mess with these scoring clubs be it the Bold or any other new wedge. The Bold is interesting though.
EdGolf
Agree on the bold.... would like to try it one day....oh well, will wait for Robert to get his and I will hopefully get to play a little with it. I'm the same, I hate messing with my wedges as those are what makes a difference from a bad score to not so bad score lol
ant
enjoy reading reviews/feedback here. i think some people might get bored because frankly jdm clubs in general are solid, quality products. like when was the last time someone posted here saying something like 'got this jdm club and its horrible, freaking hate it', right ?! and again, frankly even off the shelf non jdm clubs got much better in recent years. so then it becomes more like this works better for my game than that kinda thing and it helps when people go into more detail of what exactly works for them and why. reviews like 'got this driver and its the longest and straightest and best feeling driver i ever hit in my life; update: still hitting it long and straight and wet my pants from impact feel' are boring for sure, who cares. more to the topic it looks like grind studio can actually grind anything as long as you can draw it for them properly. they have a form on their website which looks like you can draw exactly what you want and they can do it for you in terms of grind. doesnt look like they offer different model heads tho so just the grind but thats freaking amazing, like tour van service. anybody here tried that ? how did it work out for you ? is it stupidly expensive or what they ask is reasonable ?
