Posted January 28, 201312 yr Some list price is so low for these high end shaft over the internet. I wonder is there any counterfeit stuff for the brand name like Basileus or Fujikura? Edited January 28, 201312 yr by Calvin
January 28, 201312 yr if its too good to be true it probably is. with shafts its easier to fake compared to irons just have a decent shaft and a very good paint scheme and youl fool anyone without trying it. now if you hit a shaft that feels decent and soso your not going to think its fake even if it is. youl probably blame your swing or some other factor before you call it out. IMho
January 28, 201312 yr Buy from trusted source - that's what I do. I work in China and have seen tons of fake 'painted over' shafts. One way to look at a shaft quality is the butt and tips area and see how it looks versus the original. Also the sound (if you knock it on hard ground is different sounding)
January 28, 201312 yr If there can be fake Diamanas and fake Crazy even, surely Fujikura and Basileus can be faked as well. As Ed says buy from a legit source and authorized reseller, for shafts its a must anyway if you want the warranty.
January 28, 201312 yr "Even" in Western Europe there are fakes going around. And over here (maybe not Italy) counterfeit goods are hunted down like dogs (unlike NY for example. Canal street is an embarrassment). I keep hearing about sets of 302's and 502's being sold for 8/900 euros. Considering a set of Titleist go for more than that out here...there's bound to be something dodgy. So shafts...a good paint job and that's it. Buy from official dealers. If second hand, make sure they were originally purchased from an official dealer and come with proper documentation.
