lousifers
Hi guys, Got Ryoma F3 and F5. F5 is in stock shaft R flex. I hit this one great. The weight/flex is about right. The problem is with F3 w Crazy LY FW-01 Evo 6.9 flex (SR). It's hard for me to hit it up. My swing is hit it down a bit. I believe maybe if I can find the shaft with somewhat same profile as its stock shaft in R flex, this problem should be solved. So anyone can recommend me such shaft? I'm thinking about trying to switch the shaft with my XXIO FW3 or buying Regio Formula FW... or just buy Regio Formula driver shaft in 65R. Thanks. Duffer19
Mark, somehow I have a feeling that you are playing shafts that are too stiff for you. It is always better to err on the soft side, imo, particularly on FW and 3 wood is notoriously difficult to hit off the deck. For cheap, you can consider the GD SF5 R which is not soft by any mean but soft enough to launch the ball.
lousifers
Hi R, thanks. That's very good advice. Beside this one, I'm considering Quadra FW, but maybe a bit too heavy coz I'm now finding 50g range. Mark
lousifers
Find out more that Quadra does have FW55 which is 61g. so I can this way as well.
gian11
Mark, I think steep swing doesn't work that much with the Ryoma F3, try to sweep it clean a shallow swing works best with a bigger head.
lousifers
Hi Gian, How did you know that I swing it too steep with FW3? Man, you're right!! Thanks, I'll take more vdo and analyze hard on this. Meanwhile I exchanged the shaft with Wmclarenf1. Quadra FW55 is coming. This forum is good. Mark friend guess you've mentioned you're hitting it down so i thought your swing might be a bit steep. have tried different swing styles with the F3 before and figured that you get better result with a shallower swing, you get good contact and almost automatic the ball will go up quickly whilst a steep angle of attack is the opposite the result is pretty bad for me, can't get up the ball and direction usually on the left. I do this by having a low takeaway to get that wide arc and then sweep it. If you learn how to hit this properly maybe you will become like me, you can't take this out of your bag.
