wmclarenf1
Anyone played the original Fire Express and the MAX WBQ (not Proto) in the same weight category and preferably same head? If yes, please share your experiences in terms of launch, spin, dispersion and your take on feel. Thanks. chiromikey
these are my initial impressions from my first few range sessions with the wbq. this is on an outdoor range so i don't have any launch monitor data. launch: wbq is slightly lower and more penetrating. spin: trajectory and roll leads me to believe wbq has slightly less spin. dispersion: no noticeable difference feel: original feels a tiny bit better, likely due to slightly higher torque numbers...but the wbq does not feel bad by any stretch of the imagination. as a side note, i added a bit of weight to my driver head (1-2 swing weights) after my first session and it really improved the the feel and kick of the wbq. the wbq also seems to help me eliminate the left side so it could stick around for a while. unless you have monster ss numbers, i'm not sure i'd pair this shaft with a low loft head. wmclarenf1
Thanks for this Chiro. Any crazy shafts you really familiar with that you can compare and contrast? Also, the normal FEX seems to play softer than the Crazy's flex for flex, how's the WBQ in this regard? I see the CPM numbers from Quadra to indicate it plays softer to flex. THE WBQ 55 stiff I am looking at is 250CPM while the FEX 55 Stiff is 254 CPM.
chiromikey
let's see...i'd say the wbq 65 feels similar to the ly-02 but a bit softer...but not as whippy as the royal deco.
chiromikey
wbq is my new favorite shaft for the 435...it takes anything and feels better than the ly-02.
wmclarenf1
Dammit! You playin the same flex in the wbq as with your ly02?
chiromikey
pretty much. ly-02 is 7.2 and the wbq is stiff.
wmclarenf1
pretty much. ly-02 is 7.2 and the wbq is stiff. And to reconfirm, you feel the WBQ stiff plays slightly softer than teh LY-02 7.2. Would you say as much as 1/2 flex softer is you had to hazard a guess? chiromikey
i guess i don't know that it necessarily plays softer to flex as much as it has better feel. i can just feel the tip load and unload better.
