Swing most of the Scotty users in PGA tour didn't use regular retail Scotty, most of them are using Circle T Scotty which cost more than 1,000$ and i even saw a piece of Circle T that cost 4,000$. But what you said is right, expensive putter didn't make you putt better. I've seen so many golfer that has an average of 25-26 putt per round by using a retail putter. But what custom and premium putter give you is a quality and self-satisfaction, when you play with something you struggle for then you'll play with a better feeling same as women using brand name and men driving a super car.

Dude, 25-26 putts average a round is extremely good for social golf. That's 1.44. Best on PGA tour is 1.66 which is about 29.88 or 30 putts a round.

That's my reasoning for looking at the putters. I figure with the Zen, the quality is spot on and that should give me the confidence to putt better. It's similar to when I switched to Miura irons from my old set. The premium quality gave me more confidence in my swing and while it hasn't been a drastic improvement, I do hit on average better than before. The way I swing hasn't changed, only my confidence that I'm going to hit a better shot has. Plus, especially with the Zen, it looks pretty haha.

That being said, it also means I can no longer use the "it's not me, it's the club" excuse on missed shots lol

Thanks everyone for the feedback, I've decided to stop looking at the others for now and just patiently wait for my Zen putter to arrive.

Many, or even all of the comments above have validity. Of course a player needs to match clubs to his swing and his game, putter included. And of course confidence in one's bag makes a difference in scoring and ball striking. But all said, and contrary to the cliché, a good player CAN buy a better game. It's not just a con(fidence) game. Better clubs -- whether through technological advance or design artistry -- can and do improve a better player's game. And I daresay that most who frequent this site not only know that, but love it, and love in particular the JDM approach to design and execution not only for appearance (and confidence) sake, but for real performance. The Zen is one such better club, rightly appreciated for its design and execution. Enjoy it when you get it, a-13, and do let us know if it fits your game and how your search goes.

wmclarenf1 - you're right about the PGA number but one different thing is that those guys normally make a regular on and putting for birdies or eagles, while the old man I mentioned usually approach his 3rd and 4th shot around the green which set him up in an average closer position for his putt.

anakatsu13 - nice that you're finally got your answer, hope you enjoy the Zen I wish I could find a nice one for myself too.

You are correct Toki! Actually, reminded me when I do have under 30 putting rounds, its because I chip it real close when I miss GIR… and I'm getting old LOL.
